Love of God

Loving Gos means observing His commandments as 1John 5:3 says. By doing this, we are showing God our love and will come to know and understand more about his qualities and ways.

Following God's commandments also will lead us to happier satisfying life.

Make Marriage Last

View marriage as an arrangement by God - hence, with respect, husband and wife will stay together. They will, if they love each other and the perfect example of self-sacrificing love is God and His son, Jesus Christ as written in 1 John 4:7-8, and 19.

God created marriage as a permanent union, life lasting bond between a man and a woman securing the smallest unit of the community - the family. Impossible as it may seem, its legit to say, marriage can work because God created husbands and wives to compliment each other be it, physically and emotionally.

What You Really Need To Do

Photo: |Today's thought| While standing in line, waiting to order my late lunch at Subway I noticed that there was just one employee working - a young female, moving swiftly to make sure everyone was being looked after as quickly as possible.

As I was getting my card out to pay, I told her how well she was doing. Her face lit up and she said "Thank you, I really needed to hear that!"

Isn't it true that we often admire another individual but we fail to actually speak that positive thought to them.

I challenge you - next time you encounter someone working their butt off and giving a damn about customer service - speak your mind!

Let them know you value and appreciate it, because the smallest compliment, might just make the biggest difference. Alex x

Friend and Affection

"A true companion is loving all the time, and is a brother that is born when there is distress..."

The above was a quoted scripture from Proverbs chapter 17 verse 17.

When we truly care, it shows on our faces. And giving such affection would open door for closer relations in the near future - friendships.

Focus On Small Details

Life is good. When you look at the smaller details in life, life will be better.

"The rain is hard, the winds so strong.
Washing down everything in a humid stupor...

See it drizzle down the soil...
Watering plants, filling the wells...

The thunders earsplitting,
Lightings too quick.

Reach out for a hot cup of coffee.
Enjoy a book and dream far away..."

Have a safe day!

Bible, Still Practical?

An ancient book. A Guinness book of record holder as the "Most Published Book". The Holy Bible.

Among hundreds and thousands of advice books written each year, the Bible is still the best adviser.

Why? First of all, the author of this book is God. He is the creator of man. Hence, it is like the manual of man's life - to guide us to use this gift of life to the fullest: meaningful, at peace with God while walking the narrow path to paradise on earth.

God and Son of God

Psalms 83:18 - Jehovah, you are the most high.

Most high - superlative, greatest, best.
How about Jesus Christ?

Luke 1:31 - you will call him "Jesus" and he will be the son of the most high.

In here an angel was telling Mary she will get pregnant to a baby boy, Jesus.

Clearly, the Bible describes God as the Most high and Jesus as his son.

They are in a way "one" because of their personality, characteristics and traits, not because they are literally one. Don't be confuse, study the Bible. Remember, John 17:3 is a mathematical sentence -
Exact knowledge of true God + knowledge of his anointed son, Jesus = Everlasting Life.

What is God Asking From Us?

Micah 6:8 - to exercise justice, to love kindness and to be modest in walking with Him.

It requires that we have a good relationship with God and to do His will.

Work to preserve our relationship with God, to have a good standing in front of Him.

And, This would only be possible if we are studying the Bible, if we be fortified by the word of God.

Are you ready to give what God is asking?

Merciful

Mercy is an expression of pity. It is kind consideration towards others that relieves them from their demise.

Matthew 5:7 "Happy are the merciful, since they will be shown mercy."

The very wise example of being "merciful" toward a person in need without discrimination is written in the Bible. It is about Jesus' illustration of the good Samaritan.

In what ways could we be merciful as well? And how? What can we gain from being merciful?

The Bible text mentioned above is one of the most reason we have to be merciful. To bring upon us mercy as well. Aside from being more than "helpful", being merciful could also result to happiness. Hence to do so, we need to engage positive deeds of kindness towards others especially those who are in need.

Help an elderly cross the street.
Give beggar a cup of coffee or a bread.
Let a senior, pregnant or a lady take your seat.
Open a door to a stranger.

May you be blessed with mercy along your way.

Happy Thoughts

Imagine a glass with water and describe it.

Is it half full or half empty?
Your answer to this question will tell if your optimistic or not.

And of course being positive in life is healthier both for the mind, soul, physical health and people we socialize. Laughter is the best medicine, right? And it would always have a connection with being positive. How to be optimistic?

Practice being positive. Start by having nuggets of happy thoughts and below are optimistic some examples of actions that will lead you to happy thoughts - that would give your soul an inner piece and in the long run, happiness, contentment and serenity.

Give someone a smile.
Watch the rise and set of the sun.
Help an elderly, a widow and an orphan.
Observe the flock.
Pet a pet.

The list could go on and on. Don't dwell on the dark side of the hill. Don't stare on the ugly side of the coin. It won't hurt to know these things but to dwell on them would surely give a bad side effect. It would actually hurt you.

So chin up, head high and spread the sunshine! Have a happy time thinking happy thoughts!

Smile. :)

Smile. After waking up in the morning.

Do it in front of the mirror.
When you pass by and lock eyes to a stranger.
Smile to children. Always share your smile to children.
Smile. Fake it until you mean it.
Smile. If you feel like it.

Smile gives inner peace.
It calms a heart, it radiates happiness.
So don't you smug and make another wrinkle,
Give the world a gift- a contagious smile!

DID I MARRY THE RIGHT PERSON?

REPOST from a social networking site.

DID I MARRY THE RIGHT PERSON?

This is a very good article. Those who are still single may learn something from... here...
Those who are already married or in a commitment may take it as a guideline to improve your marriage & relationship ...

During one of our seminars, a woman asked a common question. She said, "How do I know if I married the right person?"
I noticed that there was a large man sitting next to her so I said, "It depends. Is that your husband?"
In all seriousness, she answered "How do you know?"

Let me answer this question because the chances are good that it's weighing on your mind.
Here's the answer.

A Carrot, An Egg and Cup of Coffee

I'm blog hopping and saw this post from Inlove With Sunflower, it's too inspiring not to share, hope you enjoy reading as I did. :)

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose. Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil, without saying a word. In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me, what do you see?" "Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg. Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma.

The daughter then asked, "What does it mean, mother?"

True Story of Courage and Love

Walking down a path through some woods in Georgia in 1977, I saw a water puddle ahead on the path. I angled my direction to go around it on the part of the path that wasn't covered by water and mud. As I reached the puddle, I was suddenly attacked!

Yet I did nothing for the attack was so unpredictable and from a source so totally unexpected. I was startled as well as unhurt, despite having been struck four or five times already. I backed up a foot and my attacker stopped attacking me. Instead of attacking more, he hovered in the air on graceful butterfly wings in front of me. Had I been hurt I wouldn't have found it amusing, but I was unhurt, it was funny, and I was laughing. After all, I was being attacked by a butterfly!

Having stopped laughing, I took a step forward. My attacker rushed me again. He rammed me in the chest with his head and body, striking me over and over again with all his might, still to no avail. For a second time, I retreated a step while my attacker relented in his attack.

Yet again, I tried moving forward. My attacker charged me again. I was rammed in the chest over and over again. I wasn't sure what to do, other than to retreat a third time, after all, it’s just not everyday that one is attacked by a butterfly. This time, though, I stepped back several paces to look the situation over. My attacker moved back as well to land on the ground. That’s when I discovered why my attacker was charging me only moments earlier.

He had a mate and she was dying. She was beside the puddle where he landed. Sitting close beside her, he opened and closed his wings as if to fan her. I could only admire the love and courage of that butterfly in his concern for his mate. He had taken it upon himself to attack me for his mate’s sake, even though she was clearly dying and I was so large. He did so just to give her those extra few precious moments of life, should I have been careless enough to step on her.

Now I knew why and what he was fighting for. There was really only one option left for me. I carefully made my way around the puddle to the other side of the path, though it was only inches wide and extremely muddy. His courage in attacking something thousands of times larger and heavier than himself just for his mate’s safety justified it. I couldn’t do anything other than reward him by walking on the more difficult side of the puddle. He had truly earned those moments to be with her, undisturbed. I left them in peace for those last few moments, cleaning the mud from my boots when I later reached my car.

Since then, I've always tried to remember the courage of that butterfly whenever I see huge obstacles facing me. I use that butterfly’s courage as an inspiration and to remind myself that good things are worth fighting for.
